Inactive What Exactly Is The Difference Between An Active And Inactive Security Clearance?

What exactly is the difference between an active and inactive security clearance? - inactive

I was in the Navy and I had a security clearance "secret" that should last me 5 years from the date the permit was granted. Well, I'm not full-time Navy (now a reservist) I'm on the labor market over time. So, I suppose, since I is currently not a job that TS clearance is required inactive right now? What will the potential employer must do to start my desktop? Will they run background checks on others?
